December 28, 2015

This week has been way crazy. So the week was pretty slow until Christmas, and that day was so much fun. I got to not only talk to my family, but i also got to have a great day with a family. We didnt do anything to special, but we just had so much fun. Being away fro Christmas was a pretty interesting experience, but it was fine. It wasnt as hard as i was expecting so its alright. Then on saturday it rained and rained and rained. there was flash flood warnings all day. Then at 6 pm we were just pulling into taco bell when a loud siren started blaring. At first we didnt know what to say then we realized that it was the tornado warning. So we were camped out in taco bell for about an hour. it was really crazy. then it has been raining ever since, and it just barley stopped about an hour ago. there has been flooding all weekend. so it has been really crazy. Our apartment is fine. but thats my week. I love yall

Everyone had to go sing at different times, and it was just a blast. then yesterday the whole mission went to the Bentonville stake center and we had a Christmas conference starting at 9am. It was really good, then at 12 we had lunch immediately followed by a dodge ball tournament. our zone did pretty good, we made it to the semi finals. It was a blast. then all the musicly talented people had a Christmas program for us We have some really awesome people in our mission. then we drove home. We left there at 6pm so we were there all day. It was a blast. That was my week. Merry Christmas and I love yall

December 14, 2015

Hey everybody!
This week has been pretty good. so I forgot to tell you that we have a baptism on the 16th. I had nothing to do with it. the date was already set when I got here, but he is such a cool guy. His name is Brandon and I really like him. We have had a ton of lessons. Maybe it really isn't that much, but compared to what I did in fort scott it is like night and day difference. I love it here so much. Me and Elder Thompson are getting a long really well. We didn't have anything crazy happen this last week except on Thursday we had a conference with Bradley D Foster of the Seventy. it was really good. he is such a spiritual man He was in Rodgers Arkansas in the morning then Springfield Missouri in the after noon then Tulsa Oklahoma the next day.  Me and Elder Thompson were the only two people from our zone in the Rogders one so we got our "zone picture" but it was just us to so that was really awesome. I cant think of any other stories right now, but I love it here so much, and I love yall

I am still trying to get to know everyone here, but I love it. My companion is Elder Thompson. I really love him. we get a long really well. here is my new mailing address

November 30, 2015

Well this week was a really crazy week. On monday we played flourball in joplin again. That was a ton of fun. we were only gonna play for a few hours, but we ended up playing for about 4 and a half. my shoulder was pretty sore after it. then on Tuesday Elder Whitby had a meeting in Bentonville so i went to Webb City with Elders Reynolds, and Barton. They both were prettycool, and we had a pretty good day. Then on Wednesday it was our only normal day this week. It was pretty good. we taught Doug, and he gave us both some sweet belt buckles. then on thursday it was thanksgiving. We drove down to Pittsburg to play turkeybowl. i got so sore. We played for 4 hours. then the elders from Parsons came up with us to fort scott, and had dinner with us and a member. We went on Exchanges after, and Elder burch stayed in Fort Scott with me. It was pretty good. for thanksgiving we didnt knock and doors, so we visited with a memeber for a long time. Then on Friday we had zone training meeting in Joplin. so we were back on the road. that went pretty well, then on Saturday we got our transfer calls. i am being transfered to Cassville missouri. I already know my companion. he served in my zone for the first two transfers. i really like him. his name is Elder Thompson. i leave fort scott on thursday, so i am going to do a lot of saying goodbye this week. i kinda have grown to love fort scott, but at the same time i am happy to leave. anyway love you all

November 23, 2015

So this week was a pretty crazy week. Last monday we went bowling, and that was a ton of fun. we bowled 6 games, and just had a blast together. our whole district was there. Then Tuesday we had to go down to joplin, because a elder in our zone is in a bike area, and he has a bad hip, so he was having problems, so they had an emergency transfer, and we got to go down to help. When i got there the assistants told me that i should be doing some work while they sort the whole thing out, so i went with a elder, and we went biking, and let me tell you i became so grateful for the car, and will never complain that it is a piece of crap ever again. Then on Wednesday we had District meeting. Well Elder Thompson and Elder Whitby had to go down to joplins District meeting, so they took Pittsburgs truck down there. Well as time for our meeting was getting close. we realized that when they took the truck they also took the keys to the church with them. We started calling all the members in pittsburg who would have a key, and no one would answer,  or could give them to us. Finally we had the idea to just go to the public library, and have our meeting in one of the conference rooms there. the meeting went pretty good, and we went on Exchanges that day to. Elder Barton came up from Neosho, and Elder whitby went down there. We had a good time up in Fort Scott. Nothing to crazy happend. Then the week was kinda slow untill Saturday We helped our branch mission leader move. he is an 84 year old man, and his wife died last year, so he wanted to move home with his kids, so we packed him up all day, and he made it to texas at 11 pm that night. that was kinda sad to see him go. then yesterday We had almost a complete remodel of our branch. We got a new relief society president, and a new primary president, and a new Elders quram president, and a new young mens president, and they released our branch mission leader, and we should get a new one next week. Elder whiby aslo had a meeting in Joplin, so i went with Elder Moore in Pittsburg. that actually wasnt to bad untill a few minuites before Elder whitby got back. After he got back the assistance came with him, and came up with us and blitzed our area. Which means two or more sets of missionaries in one area. that went pretty good. Today we are playing flour ball so i wont get to email a lot today. but this next week should be just as crazy as last week. anyway ill let yall go. I love you

November 16, 2015

Hey
This week was a pretty good week. On last monday we went bowling adn it was so much fun. we all had a blast. Then on tuesday we had zone training meeting in Joplin. and that was pretty good. nothing to crazy stood out to me. But we went on exchanges after, and i got Elder Harris up to fort scott with me. He seems pretty cool. He is a big guy. he is 6 foot 7 and 300 lbs. so i guess you could say he is huge. Then on thursday we were playing basketball in the morning and we got a new potential investigator. he is the 6 foot 5 black guy who loves basketball and seems to like us. we play basketball with him almost every morning now, and talk to him a little bit. Then on Sunday we comfirmed julie and kaitlynn The two who got baptised last saturday. I Got to comfirm Julie, and that was a cool experiance. That was really all my week though. LOve you all

November 9, 2015

This week was so crazy, but so much fun. To start of on Tuesday my companion had to be in Bentonville, so i got to go with Elder Moore in Pittsburg. he is something else, and im gonna leave it at that. Then on Wednesday after District meeting i went to Parsons with Elder Jackson. That was a lot of fun. i really like him, and this one member from Parsons. They are so much fun. Then on Thursday night after i got back. We ran out of stuff to do, so we went and played basketball. While we were warming up, some black kids came in and asked if they could play with us. of course we said yes. They were soooooooooo good. they well all crazy fast and could all dunk it. We later found out that almost all of them play for fort scott community college. We tried to talk to some of them about the church, but they were not interested. Then on Friday we met with this guy who is crazy! like he isnt all there. he thinks he is possesed. we gave him a blessing, then he started to talk to us, and he claims that when he was 8 years old some people dropped him off in a desert and he built a rocket and flew into outer space. then at 12 he built a 5 story house by himself. he is so funny, but so crazy. then the highlight of my week was saturday. Julie and Kaytlynn got baptised, and it was so awesome. i got to give a talk on the Holy Ghost. I cant even describe to yall what it was like to see someone that you have been teaching take those steps into baptism. it was so great. anyway that was my week. i love yall

November 2, 2015

This week was a pretty good week i guess. There wasnt a whole lot that went on. We taught our two investigators that are getting baptised this weekend, and that is still going so great. It still blows my mind how ready that are. Then we have two investigators that are progressing, but have a long way to go, well they came to church yesterday, and the guy bore his testimony that he knew this was the right church, so that was really great to. Last week we did have a hard time teaching lessons at night, because the royals were in the world series so no one wanted us over, but it was really funny we were walking down the street, and in all the windows you could see the game on, so that was really funny. on Halloween we stayed in our apartment most of the day, and just played games and stuff, but it didnt feel like halloween. we onlly had one group come trick or treating to our apartment, and they were members, so that was weird, but it was a good time i guess. more candy for me :) Oh and i have been told that the royals won last night. so go kansas right? anyway i love yall

October 26, 2015

Hey yall
This weed was a pretty good one. I would say that it wasnt near as good as last week, but it was still good. We are still teaching that investigator and she is still so ready. We also have gotten a few other investigators. Right now they arnt to serious, but they just want to know more, but its still great, and i am still super excited to teach them. This week we also had a activity at a members house, and it was a lot of fun. We had over 70 people there. Which is like double what normally is at church. so that was really good to see all those people. Then on Sunday we had the Primary program. Me and Elder Whitby had to be a part of it because there are not a lot of primary kids. It went pretty good. We all had a lot of fun with it, then the primary president fed us during 3rd hour of church so that was really good. But ya that was the main points of my week. So i love yall

October 19, 2015

So this week was a pretty good week. I don't know if yall remember me talking about That investigator that came to church last week, well we started teaching her on Tuesday, and the lesson went great. We actually taught a full lesson and it went great. That is not the best part though. We set a Baptism date for her and her 9 year old daughter. I am so Pumped. We have also been getting in to teach more since then, and we have 6 investigators. There is only two or 3 that are solid ones, but there are investigators none the less. On Saturday it was Transfer calls, and I found out that both me and Elder Whitby are Staying in Fort Scott for another transfer. So we will be companions in Fort Scott until December 3. I am actually excited for that because if I would have been transferred our I would have missed the investigators baptism. I am so excited. The thought I just want to leave yall with is that even though things are bad at times, and it seems like there is no good that will ever come out of it there is always light at the end of the tunnel. That is what Fort Scott has taught me. I honestly hated this area when I first got here, but now I am really starting to love the people, and it really helps that we are starting to have people to teach. I just want to say sorry for not really having spiritual thoughts. I always forget to share one, and I never think about it until its to late, and also I want to apologize for not sending letter back lately. I get them in the mail and think ok ill write them back later, then later comes and I totally space it. so Please forgive me, and I will work on it. I love yall have a great week

October 12, 2015

This past week was a crazy week. On Monday we were in Joplin playing basketball and we played some rugby it was so much fun, then we stayed over there because Elder Whitby had to be in Bentonville in the Morning. So we went on Exchanges and I Was in Joplin with Elder Burkhart. We mostly passed along thank you cards,  we tried by some referrals, but none of them were home. We ended staying the night over there again. On Wednesday we had district meeting, so we drove from Joplin to there, and had a really great meeting. Then we went on exchanges with the Parsons elders, and Elder Perron came up to Fort Scott with me. We visited all the people that we handed out book of Mormons to and we set up some return apointments. The cool part of that day is we gave a blessing to this non members son who just got diagnosed with autisum. it was such an amazing experience. Then We exchanged back on Thursday, and I was so exchasuted because I haddent slept very well all week and I took a 4 hour nap. Elder Whitby thought I died, but after I woke up we went to our potentials named Tina and Ernie. The took the lesson, and actually liked what they heard, and now we have another appointment with them on Thursday. That wasn't even the best part of my week. On Sunday a member brought a friend to church, and she said that she had all intentions of joining this church. She signed up on the dinner callander to feed us, and she is starting the lessons tomorrow so I am so pumped for that. I am so excited for this coming week. I Love you all

October 5, 2015

So i really had an amazing week. on monday we had an less active invite us to the Fort Scott Comunity Volley ball game. and we had no plans so we went and i caught a t shirt so thats exciting, but the best part was is that we talked to the lady next to us, and she was so interested. the bad news is she didnt live in fort scott, but we did give a referel to the area where she lived. Then we didnt have a whole lot going until conferance. I dont know about yall, but i loved conferance. it seriously was so amazing. i feel so silly for not paying more attention to it when i was younger. It was such an amazing experiance, because while i was listing i asked Elder Whitby a Question, and the very next speaker answered it in his talk. it was so amazing to have that happen. i invite all of you to re read over the talks and ask questions before you do. i know it will change your lives well thats all i have this week love you

September 28, 2015

I know I say this a lot, but we really had a boring week. we did a lot of tracting and had no success except on Thursday when we handed out 4 book of Mormons. we are going to go try by them people later tonight, or tomorrow. Hopefully we can get something going here. but we have been playing basketball all day today so im super tired right now. but one thing that ive learned this week is we all need to be disciples of Jesus Christ. that means that if someone else is struggling rather than push them down pull them up. anyway I  love you guys

September 21, 2015

Hey yall
Well if you remember my email from two weeks ago i said i had some poison ivy and it went away, well little did i know that it did not. it got really bad last monday and i broke out in hives all over my arm. that was really fun, but i got it taken care of, and it is slowly going away. But how we got the hives to go aways is very interesting. THis guy burnt an onion, and rubbed it all over my arm. the swelling and itching almost instinatly gone away. it was really crazy. We have had a very busy week. last sunday Elder Whitby had to be in joplin at 4 so we drove down there and then drove back up to fort scoot. then on monday we played flourball. So we had to be in joplin at 9:30 in the morning. Then we drove back to fort scott. then on tuesday Elder Whitby had to be in Bentonville at 8 in the morning so we left fort scott at 5 in the morning and meet in joplin at 6:20. Then i had to go with Elder Burkhart to neosha which is another half an hour away. and me and him spent the day there. We tracted all day. WE just walked and walked. Then after all that driving  i thought we were done. but i was wrong. we had to drove to joplin on saturday because it is stake confreence this week so we had to be there for the adult session. THis week has been great though. a investigator who dropped us is talking about meeting with us again which is so great. i would like to invite you to read a poem called "The Touch of the Masters Hand" i dont remember who wrote it, and i would quote it for you, but it is way to long. Yall need to read it, because it really is so good. I love yall

September 14, 2015

This week was kinda a slow week. I forgot to tell you that last week we had transfer calls and I am staying in fort scott with the same companion. So that should be exciting. Really though this week has been really slow and it has rained so much. We went to all of our potentials and they all said they were not interested. Hopefully we get something going, but I just wanted to share a scripture real quick it is Mosiah 7:33 But if ye will turn to the Lord with full purpose of heart, and put your trust in him, and serve him with all diligence of mind, if ye do this, he will, according to his own will and pleasure, deliver you out of bondage.so we just need to put our trust in the lord and everything will work out I love you guys

September 7, 2015

Well on Monday we went to Joplin just to play basketball as a zone, and go to lunch together. It was a lot of fun. We played forever. Then on Wednesday I went on exchanges with the zone leaders. I went to Joplin with elder brown who is from bountiful Utah. It was a good time. It was crazy there was people who actually liked missionaries there. It was really nice to go out and do that. then on Thursday we were driving home and we just got to pittsburg Kansas which is 30 miles south of fort scott when the elders from parsons Kansas called and asked if we could come help them move. Parsons is 45 miles west of pttsburg. so we drove 0ver there and helped them. It took forever so we didn't get done moving them until 9 at night so we just spend the night there. Well now to get to the point of poison ivy. on Saturday we were doing service for the church, and we were clearing out some weeds. Well I was just down in the middle of everything hacking away, well turns out there was some poison ivy in there and I didn't notice it until I was almost done, so I ran up to the church and washed my arms off. The good news is I only got a miner rash that went away already. The bad news is I got 2 chigger bites. a chigger is a little bug that lives in the grass, and its bite is like a mosquito bite on steroids,. But that was my week remember that its not just missionaries who can do mission work. Never pass on an opportunity to share the gospel
I Love Yall have a great week

August 31, 2015

Hey yall
so this week was an alright week. on monday we didnt have any miles for our car, so we just stayed in fort scott and did nothing. We did a lot of tracting this week, and not a lot of success. We really did not have lessons for this week either. no one is liking us right now. it is really hard to deal with that, but we are starting to get referels from members because we are doing a lot of service for them. on friday we did 6 hours of service, and that was rough. but hopefully this week is more exciting. I just want to share my mission scripture this week, and it is 2 nephi 1:34 3 "Awake, my sons; put on the armor of righteousness . Shake off the chains with which ye are bound, and come forth out of obscurity, and arise from the dust." no matter what you are going through you can get through it. just be righteous, and put your faith in God. I love you all so much have a great week.

August 24, 2015

Well this week was a lot better than last week. On Monday we went to Joplin and played this game called flourball. it is at a abandoned water park. you take pantyhose and fill them with flour and tie a knot at the end. then you play capture the flag using the balls to hit the other team instead of tagging them. it was so much fun. we played that for 5 hours. we got a new investigator which is really exciting. I am so glad that we are making some progress. It rained really hard last night, and we got a flash flood warning Saturday morning from 2 a.m. to 9 a.m. but it never got to bad and we slept right throw the storm.  other than that my week was really boring. Remember that a testimony is not just words you say at the pulpit. a testimony is how you live, yall have a great week I love you

this week was a better week. last Monday we played basketball for 5 hours at the stake center and really had a lot of fun. it was good to go and play ball with all of them. on Tuesday we handed out 3 book of Mormons and we got 3 potential investigators so it was really such a great day. on Thursday I started to work out and I really am liking it. it makes me way tired, but it is really nice.  we changed a starter on Friday, and it took all day so that was kinda rough but it was all good. on Saturday we did service all day. I didn't get done with service until 5:30 so that was kinda fun. because we started at 8 in the morning. then sunday was not to interesting. just remember that when you are feeling like your falling down the bast way to get back up is get on your knew. August 10, 2015

soo this week was not so good. we had a few appointments with members on Tuesday and Wednesday, but we didnt do a whole lot. we tried, but we didnt get a lot done. then on Thursday it was crazy it just started raining really hard like it was just the heavyset rain i have ever seen. then randomly it just stopped and got really hot. the weather is crazy out here. then on friday i was feeling good. we had 5 appointments planned, but 4 out of the 5 didnt answer the door. we could here them inside, but no one came to the door. it was so frustrating, but it will get better i hope. then on saturday we had some ice cream and the girl working took a book of mormon which was great. then sunday i had to give a talk on the plan of salvation and it was kinda rough, but at least the first one is out of the way. this week was very boring, but everyone just remember dont ever get down. you can choose weather you are happy or not so you might as well be happy

August 3, 2015

Hey Y'all
this week was really crazy. Nothing to crazy happened in the MTC, but i really got along with my companion, and also everyone in our room. We had a blast, and my testimony really grew. anyway we left the MTC at 3:30 in the morning, and we had a genius idea to not sleep, so i didnt sleep until i got on the plane. before we got on the plane i hurry and called my mom and told her i would call and talk to her when i got to the airport in Atlanta, because that is where our layover was at. so we got on the plane and i feel asleep. i didnt wake up until we landed. and we got to Atlanta and guess what? they took out all the pay phones. i asked this lady who worked their and she said i could use her cell phone. she was so nice and really saved my. when we got on the plane from Atlanta to Fayettvile i fell asleep for a little bit, but then i started to talk to the guy next to me who was Catholic, and was not looking to change, but it was good to talk to him. We were the first missionaries to serve a full two years in bentonville Arkansas so when we went down the escalator to get our bags a ward from bentoville was waiting and cheering for us. it was really cool to see that. We drove to bentonville and went to the mission home for the night. they gave us where we are going, and who are companions were. I am serving in Fort Scott Kansas. We woke up early the next morning and went in a big loop and dropped everyone off. Well My companions name is Elder Whitby. he is from Washington State and i really like him. Me and him got shotguned which means two new elders in an area. So we really didnt know what the previous elders did. We also got a car. that is really nice. we have only done a little bit of teaching so far. it is mostly just getting to know the people. there are some interesting people here. they are so funny, but 90% of them are missing almost all of their teeth. We have done a ton of service already. we have helped two people move out, and some lady paint her house. it was really crazy, but i love it here. Ok remember that you need to have faith in Ether 12:6 it says " And now, I, Moroni, would speak somewhat concerning these things; would show unto the world that faith is things which are hoped for and not seen;wherefore, dispute not because ye see not, for ye receive no witness until after the trial of your faith." so remember faith is super important. I love you guys

today is finally P Day. This place is really so amazing. I have had a lot of fun, and i have also learned sooooo much. I never thought i would grow this much. my testimony has grown so much. Like i said Elder Peterson is my companion, and I really like him. He is so strong in the gospel, and he is so much fun. We have balanced having fun, and learning. I am having such a great time here.  The days are flying by. We have 2 three hour classes everyday, but i know Heavenly Father is helping it make them so they are so good. In my district we have Elder Evenson, He is from Canada, and he is going to Las Vegas West mission. He is our district leader, and he is so amazing. I really like him to. We also have Elder Nicholas, He is from Oregon, he is also going to Las Vegas West. He is so funny. Everything he says is funny in some way. He is really gonna be a great missionary. Next we have Elder Sweetnum. He is from Seattle and is also going to Las Vegas. He has such a strong testimony, and is really such a great kid. Next we have Elder Baker. He is from idaho. and going to Las Vegas He is the hardest to get a long with. he has a good knowledge, but he acts like he is better than everyone else. But its ok i guess.
