Hey everyone! This week has been another good one! I tell you though Time sure goes by fast! It seems like I just shot you guys an email yesterday!!
Monday- We ended up going up to Sallisaw on Monday to be with the Elders up there! We really didnt do to much, but we had a pretty good time doing nothing! Sallisaw just got whitewashed meaning they got 2 different missionaries, so It was cool to see new faces! We had dinner with our elders quorum president, and the relief society president! They are husband and wife! Not only did we have a really great meal, but we also were able to talk about some less actives, and we made a game plan on what to do with a few of them, so that was really awesome!!
Tuesday- We went to Fayetteville for a Zone Conference on Tuesday! You know those are really good, but they are really long! It started at 9, and we got done at around 4:30! There was some really good stuff, but it was just super long! The best part about the whole thing Is that I got to see Elder Jackson, and Elder Durrant! It was so good to see them again!! We didn't end up making it back to Poteau until around 6:45, and so that made it for a long day as well!
Wednesday- We had a super weird day weather wise on Wednesday! Around 9am it rained harder than i have ever saw rain! Then after 20 minutes it was clear, and kind of sunny, and then 30 minutes later it was back to raining super hard! It was like that off and on all day! It was so weird! We had this appointment, and they have fence around their house with 2 dogs! We have never saw the dogs, so they didn't know us! We walked up to the gate, and they were freaking out! They didn't look the nicest, so i tested the waters, and put my hand against the fence! The one dog started licking my hand! I took that to mean they were nice, so i went to move my hand, and as soon as i did that dang dog bit me! It turns out when he was licking me he was just taste testing! Luckily he couldn't bite me all the way because of the fence, but it was pretty dang funny! That evening we had a priest come out with us! That was pretty fun because it was the first time in a long time that I have been out with a priest! It was a good day!
Thursday- Was our planning day, and let me tell you there is nothing interesting about that! It is not my favorite thing in the whole world to do!! It was also 50 cent corn dogs at sonic, so we hit that up! I dont know if you remember, but I did that last year! It was rough! This time I didnt eat as many, and it was pretty enjoyable! There was also this pretty funny story! Earlier in the week we ran into this guy, and he said to come back so he can tell us his story! People do that quite often because there are a lot of people who "found Jesus" and love telling that story! So we went over there on Thursday, and this is what he said "I was raised Lutheran, Baptized Baptist, I work for the Methodist, and I am Pentecostal by choice" That was all he said! We were both expecting this crazy story because this guy was kind of different, and that is all he said! It was pretty funny!
Friday- In the morning we had a lesson with an investigator who is living at an Active members house right now! That lesson went really great! She is going to pray about a day to be baptized on! It was way cool! The lesson was at 10am, and after the lesson the member made us pancakes, so it was a win win for sure! We spent some time with a part member family that is way cool as well! They are pretty fun! They took us to get ice cream, and I dont think I have laughed that hard in a long time! It was fun!
Saturday- We went to a recent converts house, and they are pretty poor! The have cockroaches everywhere! It is just a cool testimony to me because they literally have almost nothing worldly, but they do not miss a week of church! Isnt that so cool? They are a huge example to me! It was super warm on Saturday to! It was 86 degrees, and that means there was a ton of yard sales! everywhere! It made for some really good opportunities to talk to some people, so that was awesome! We had two people that wanted to feed us! They both are the type of people that would get pretty upset if we cancled, and neither one of them could do a diffrent day,so we didnt eat all day, and tried to eat just a little bit at each place! It turned out pretty good, and in the end everyone was happy!
Sunday- We had Church on Sunday, and it was a pretty normal day as far as that goes! So I have been debating talking about this for like 5 weeks now! The 1st councilor of the Branch Presidency loves this movie called "The Cokeville Miracle"! I am not kidding when I say he has talked about it at least once every Sunday for the last 10 weeks! I was thinking his streak was over, and then at the very last minute of Fast and Testimony meeting he got up, and sure enough he bore his testimony about the movie! It was so funny!
Well that was the highlights of my week! I sure love you all and miss you all a ton! Have a great week!
